Enjoying tapas in Covent Garden
My gorgeous cousin Katrine
The first weekend in December my lovely cousin and a couple of her friends came to London to stay for a few days and obviously we had to meet up! So I booked a bed in a 10 female dorm in Clink 261 which is known as a hostel primarily for backpackers but it's a nice and cheap place for anyone coming to London with the intension of spending their money on more exiting things than a hotel room in the posh part of the city. The hostel is located in Zone 1 aka Central London, 5 minutes walk from King's Cross St Pancras tube station where you can get the Piccadilly Line to Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus or shift to the Central Line and continue to Oxford Street in less than 20 minutes. My cousin and her friends stayed at Clink 78 which is pretty much the same price wise and is just a few minutes further away from King's Cross Station. Clink 78 has a more youthful atmosphere, there's a bar in the basement and they offer a lot of activities you can participate in with other people from the hostel but I guess that's a matter of priority. Personally I just want a bed to sleep in because London is where you'll be the rest 18 hours of the day.
Anyway, the pictures above are taken in Pix Bar - a tapas restaurant in Covent Garden where they have the most incredible food. You just go to the bar, grab a plate, pick a couple of different tapas - the length of the sticks you collect indicate the price. In that way you can just enjoy whatever amount you like and then count the sticks as you go. But remember to save some for dessert! You don't want to miss that. LOL. It's a tiny place and usually it's absolutely stuffed with people but if you go there for lunch around 1 or 2pm you should be able to get a table. It's definitely worth a visit!
And now to another something that made it absolutely worth another visit for me and my cousin was meeting the incredible: Andrew Stanton who is the director behind "Finding Nemo"! My cousin and I started a casual conversation with him and his wife since they were interested in what language we spoke and where we were from. And I mean... You don't know the face of a director behind a Disney Movie and I wouldn't exactly call him a Hollywood celebrity but seriously.... When he finally told us he was the writer behind FINDING FUCKING NEMO I nearly had a heart attack. I mean, how cool is that?! Anyway, my cousin and I were very impressed
about the whole situation to say the least and walked out of the restaurant
with a childish giggle on our faces and just couldn't wait to tell the other
girls... Lmfao! Great day indeed.
